DCOTA Launches "Trade Secrets"
WINTERMARKET 2007 Gala Honoring Design Stars of Tomorrow
November 20, 2006
DANIA BEACH, FL—Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA), the
premier one-stop design source for all home interior needs,
is launching its third trade market, WINTERMARKET 2007 on
Wednesday, January 24 and Thursday, January 25, 2007.
Themed "Trade Secrets," this exciting two-day major market
event will feature keynote presentations by editors of five
national design trade publications who will moderate panel
discussions geared toward keeping design professionals on
top of current home industry trends. There will be dynamic
programs involving many national design stars, covering a
multitude of fascinating topics by the keynotes, as well as
many special showroom programs. DCOTA and the WINTERMARKET
will offer the design community exclusive products,
versatile furnishings and, as always, the latest in design.
The WINTERMARKET will also host an Awards Ceremony and Gala
Reception on the evening of January 24, 2007, when the
awards for DCOTA's "Stars of Design", one of Florida’s most
prestigious interior design awards, will be presented. This
year will spotlight the very best in their fields of design
to include interior design, architecture, product design,
photography, graphic design, urban design, art, and a
special award for lifetime achievement. Upon the conclusion
of this prestigious awards ceremony, DCOTA will host a
reception for the award recipients.
DCOTA, in conjunction with Palm Beach Cottages and Gardens
magazine, will also be announcing the winner of the "Design
Challenge" at the WINTERMARKET Awards Ceremony and Gala
Reception. This dynamic design competition, launched in
April of 2006, matched a few of South Florida’s hottest,
emerging designers with a pre-eminent Palm Beach tastemaker
of their choice and asked each to create a dramatic custom
room, evoking the essence of the personal style of their
tastemaker. Up for the challenge were designers Joseph Fava,
David Chason, A. Keith Powell and Dawn Hamilton who shopped
the showrooms at DCOTA to create their dramatic custom room
on a pre-built set. Each of the four installations was
debuted with a private VIP opening reception and was on view
for two weeks. All rooms are featured in Palm Beach Cottages
& Gardens magazine.
DCOTA, a unique facility
that will shortly celebrate its 21st Anniversary, is the
preeminent design center serving the design professional in
Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean regions. DCOTA is
the largest design campus of its kind, showcasing 775,000
square feet of extraordinary interior design needs for any
home, yacht or office project. Fine furniture, fabrics,
flooring, lighting, kitchen, bath, art, antiques,
accessories, appliances, window treatments, decorative
hardware, paint, surfacing and so much more can be found
throughout the 150 showrooms at DCOTA.
